With over 18 years Industry experience and a lifetime of international travel, Amanda’s depth of knowledge flows effortlessly into her Interior Design as well. She has bought her visual interpretation to many large-scale shoots, events and production designs. And what’s more – she’s a lover of Kulchi.

Amanda, we love your style and the interiors you have created for yourself and your clients. How do you see Kulchi fitting in with your aesthetic?

My aesthetic has always been a bit ‘global’ and a bit ‘eclectic’, so being able to choose pieces from Marrakech – or even better – to have things custom made, allows me to get an edge and express my interiors in a particular way. I like to create environments that are both stylish and livable. Kulchi now being available in Australia has allowed me to bring new elements into my interiors, which I love. I try to avoid that ‘cookie-cutter’ look at all times… for me I like to think of my look as a bit ‘Jade Jagger’, a touch of Gypset and a little bit rock ‘n’ roll. In this way, Kulchi hits the mark for me!

What Kulchi pieces have you chosen for your own home?

I personally have 2 of the large Tuareg mats and an Azilal. I’m waiting for the next container to arrive as I have my heart set on a beautiful Beni Ouarain rug as well! I also have the pale grey Hammam bath towels, which are exquisite. After using them I struggle to use any other towels!

What inspires you?

Love these shots of photographer Mario Testino’s house in Vogue, and also Jade Jagger’s bedroom Beni Ouarain.

Do you have a particular favourite piece?

They are all fabulous but I must say the Tuareg mats for me are perfect for my homes:  they are relaxed and still very chic. The age and patina of the reed and leather is beautiful on floorboards. I think for the Australian climate and lifestyle these rugs are perfect and if it’s good enough for Mario Testino and Lanvin – it’s good enough for me too! I find these looks really inspiring.Kulchi Tuareg mat
